On successful completion you will become eligible and recognised by certification bodies, as competent to undertake electrical work.

Those who work in the trade and who have completed a Level 2 qualification in Electrical Installation and who are looking to complete their training for the domestic market.

This qualification aims to provide the expertise and technical knowledge that those wishing to gain an understanding of electrical installations within dwellings will need. Both qualifications reflect the minimum technical competencies required to become registered qualified supervisors within the NICEIC, NAPIT, etc.

The Guildford College Electrical Department has a team of vastly experienced tutors and assessors all drawn from the electro-technical industry.

The team is committed to delivering the best possible training from our new workshops and assessment areas and we can provide clear guidance on career progression in the industry. We will provide all the support and guidance that the learner may need when working towards their qualification.

You will be taught through theory sessions, workshops and work experience.

Homework: Students will be expected to complete some study in their own time, alongside their college work.

On completion of this course you might consider the following options:

  • Level 3 Award in Initial Verification and certification of Electrical Installations
  • Level 3 Award in Periodic Inspection & Testing of Electrical Installations
  • Level 3 Award in Initial & Periodic Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
  • Level 4 Award in Design and Verification of Electrical Installations

Completion of a Level 2 Diploma in Electrical Installation prior to commencing this qualification is desirable.

All candidates must be working within the domestic electrotechnical sector for the duration of the qualification and be able to provide a workplace recorder (qualified electrician) to supervise and witness the site diary component.
