You may have seen recent media reports about a serious stabbing incident sadly leading to the death of a teenage boy in woodland near a park in Guildford. Surrey Police are treating this as a murder investigation.

We understand that news of incidents like this can be upsetting for students, parents and carers, and we want to provide reassurance about safety at Guildford College.

Our campus remains safe

There is no indication that this incident is connected to Guildford College, and there is no ongoing threat to our students, staff or visitors.

Surrey Police are leading the investigation and have increased patrols and their visible presence in the local area as they follow all lines of enquiry. We are in regular contact with the police and will share any verified information if it becomes relevant to our college community.

The police have asked that anyone with information relating to the incident reports this as soon as possible. This can be done by contacting Surrey Police directly and quoting reference PR/45260006995 or by speaking to a member of our Student Support and Safeguarding Team.
