Guildford College is celebrating the success of its T Level and BTEC students, with learners achieving excellent results and progressing into employment, higher education and further training.
Students studying T Levels at the college have demonstrated the value of combining classroom learning with substantial industry placements, developing the technical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in their chosen careers.
This year, students celebrated success with 100% pass rates across all T Level programmes:
- Science, with a pass rate of 100%, 4.5% higher than last year’s national average.
- Health: Adult Nursing, with a pass rate of 100%, 4.5% higher than last year’s national average.
- Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction, with a pass rate of 100%, 4.4% higher than last year’s national average.
- Education and Early Years, with a pass rate of 100%, 3.4% higher than last year’s national average.

T Levels are two-year technical qualifications designed in collaboration with employers to prepare students for skilled employment, apprenticeships or higher education. Equivalent to three A Levels, T Levels combine classroom learning with a substantial industry placement, enabling students to develop the technical knowledge and practical skills required by industry.
Neil Brookes, Chief Learning Officer (Quality) at Activate Learning, said: “We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our T Level students in Digital Production, Design and Development at Guildford College.
“These results are a fantastic reflection of the hard work, creativity and determination of our learners, supported by the expertise and dedication of our staff and employer partners.
“T Levels are designed to give young people the technical knowledge, practical skills and real-world experience that employers value, and our students have demonstrated that they are ready to take those skills into their next steps, whether that is higher education, an apprenticeship or employment.
“It is particularly rewarding to see our learners develop the confidence and professional skills to succeed in a fast-moving digital sector. We congratulate every student on their achievement and look forward to seeing where their talent and ambition takes them.”
Kayleigh Skeet achieved a Distinction in the Health: Adult Nursing T Level and will study Midwifery at the University of Southampton.
She said: “Guilford College definitely helped put me in the right direction and I don’t think I’d be attending a Russell Group university without the support of my tutors.
“I’d definitely recommend Guilford College for a T Level as it gave people a chance who didn’t excel in exam conditions to prove what they could do.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to all of my teachers as they all had their input into me receiving the grade I did and a special thank you to my tutor David Saul, as he taught me for three years and supported me throughout.”
Maxim Krupin achieved a Distinction in the Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction T Level and is taking a gap year and working in industry before attending university.
Maxim said: “In this job I do architectural drawings. During this gap year, they want to train me so I can help them manage the digital side of operations. This includes creating technical drawings, spreadsheet admin and also expanding to involve BIM in future projects. Which will be difficult but I am quite excited for.
“My plan after will be to go to university to further my studies in construction more specifically something to do with design or management as I enjoy those parts of the industry.
“My experience at Guildford College was positive and I enjoyed studying my course. Guildford College and my teachers helped me to find work experience throughout my two years which has been very helpful in preparing me for work.
“During the course, we have also been on handful trips and have had guest speakers come in to explain the role in the industry. This was a great opportunity to see and hear first hand how it is like working in the industry which also helped to link the learning in the classroom to real life circumstances.
“I would recommend Guildford College for people looking to start their T Level in construction as it has really helped me to gain a large amount of experience and knowledge in the industry in such a short time.
“I would like to finally thank all of my teachers that have taught me over the last two years. They have helped and motivated me to do my best and have taught me all I need to know to pass these exams and get a start within the industry.”
