Cycle mechanic training centre opens at Merrist Wood College

In acknowledgement of this unprecedented increase in demand for all things ‘bike’ in our area, Activate Cycle Academy has opened a brand new workshop at our campus in Worplesdon.

Since lockdown was enforced in April this year, many of us have made the most of the opportunity to jump on our bikes for our outdoor exercise. Blessed with good weather across Spring and Summer, as well as the beautiful countryside that surrounds us, a huge number of people got in the saddle and incorporated a bike ride into their designated ‘outdoor activity’ of the day!

In acknowledgement of this unprecedented increase in demand for all things ‘bike’ in our area, Activate Cycle Academy has opened a brand new workshop at our campus in Worplesdon.  Delivering Cytech courses, Activate Cycle Academy’s facility will initially be utilised by staff in the bicycle trade as well as people looking to retrain and join the cycle trade, and will deliver cycle maintenance training to people from across the South of England. Cytech Home Mechanic courses for cycling enthusiasts are also available.

Matt Grant, Sales and Marketing Manager at ACA said, “In keeping with the majority of the cycle trade, we have seen a massive increase in business over recent weeks with a record number of course bookings, so the launch of this new training facility couldn’t have been timed any better. It will significantly increase our much-needed training capacity and reduce the lead times for people looking to book onto one of our courses. We are constantly looking at ways to improve our training delivery and by opening this strategically placed third venue, will help keep us at the forefront of cycle maintenance training in the UK.”

More information regarding course dates and availability can be found on the website; activatecycleacademy.com/cytech-courses. However, with the course in high demand, early booking is essential.
