You will gain skills and knowledge in media make-up including applying small ready-made prosthetic pieces and bald caps, postiche, theatrical make-up airbrushing, fashion and photographic make-up, creative style and dress hair, face and body art.
This qualification is approved and supported by HABIA, the standard setting body for hair, beauty, nails and spa qualifications.
All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
Those who have already achieved a Level 2 Hair and Media Make Up, Beauty Therapy or Hairdressing qualification who are looking to specialise in the industry or gain an additional qualification.

How you'll learn and be assessed
The course is delivered via theoretical and practical sessions using e-learning, text books, interactive learning, Q & A and practical demonstrations and peer work progressing to working on our external client base.
Work experience during studies is mandatory. We have guest speakers and training workshops from well-know make-up companies.
Homework:
Home study for health and safety and client care units in the form of 2 or 3 hours per week alongside initial delivery.
Assessment:
Unit exams with option to complete assignments in place of exams as required. Graded practical assessment. Research, design planning throughout for practical and assessment.
Progression
Progression directly into industry. University progression (some courses may require a one year Level 4 Foundation in Fine Art).
Entry requirements
You need to have a level 2 qualification in Hair and Media Make Up, Beauty Therapy or Hairdressing, plus Maths and English Language GCSE at grade 4 or above
