The COVID-19 pandemic propelled esports into the mainstream, with celebrities and Premier League stars participating in competitive FIFA tournaments and F1 drivers regularly streaming iRacing on Twitch.
On an esports course, you’ll be completing written tasks, as well as completing practical assignments such as presenting, coaching, live streaming, events management, designing an esports brand, and more! This is a great opportunity to upskill and progress your career into this new area of business, as well as many other digital careers.
If you don’t already have five GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above, but you want to progress to an esports qualification or apprenticeship, our Level 2 Esports course is a great place to start. This qualification will enable you to progress within the esports industry, the traditional sports industry, marketing, or many other technology-based careers.

You will study five mandatory units:
- Esports Games, Team and Tournaments
- Establishing an Esports Organisation
- Streaming for Esports
- Plan an Esports Event
- Start an Enterprise in Esports
and one optional unit from the following:
- Design an Esports Game
- Positive Health and Wellbeing in Esports
There are also work experience placements to ensure that you gain the practical skills and knowledge in the areas that you wish to develop.

How you'll learn and be assessed
You’ll be working with the finest, competition-grade equipment, in classrooms that are designed to facilitate the learning and growth of esports players.
Assessment will occur continually throughout the programme. You will have unit assignments to complete and will be assessed on your practical ability and application of theory.
You will also have assessments and written assignments that will need to be delivered to a deadline, as well as oral presentations, professional discussions and group work.
Each individual unit and the full award are graded at Pass, Merit or Distinction.
After successful completion of this course, you can progress to further study, such as our esports Level 3 Diploma.
This qualification can also support progression to an apprenticeship in a related sector, for example, digital marketing, creative media or events.
