AM2 Centre

Licensed National Electrotechnical Training (NET) centre

The AM2 Centre at Guildford College is a licensed National Electrotechnical Training (NET) centre authorised to deliver NET assessments for electrical apprentices/trainees.

The brand-new facility includes 4 installation bays and 2 fault-finding bays to complete the assessments. It is located on the 5th floor of the Technology Tower at Guildford College and includes views across Stoke Park as well as close links to the A3/M25 and Guildford railway station.

Assessments

The purpose of the AM2/AM2S/AM2E is to ensure all qualified electricians achieve a single standard that has been agreed by employers in the industry. The assessment is an industry recognised trade test that is controlled by NET.

The AM2 assessment is for electrical apprentices/trainees who are training against the Apprenticeship Framework and the AM2E is for those who are on an Experienced Worker Programme. For those training against the Apprenticeship Standard the AM2S must be taken.

The assessments are carried out over two and a half days in the centre, covering practical and underpinning knowledge of electrical installation procedures, including H&S, practical installation, fault finding and an online multiple-choice knowledge exam. All our assessments are price on application, please make an enquiry to the AM2 coordinator on the form below who will be able to explain prices.

NET have comprehensive information on their website for all aspects of the assessments https://www.netservices.org.uk/
