A Level subjects available at Guildford College

When you complete your programmes, you can go on to further study at university or college, progress directly into employment, or undertake an apprenticeship.

Learners can select three subjects from the following: Biology, Business, Chemistry, English Language and Literature, Health and Social Care (L3 Cambridge Advanced National AAQ), History, Maths, Physics, Politics, Psychology, Sociology.

We will also offer the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) as an additional option.

The subject list is provisional and subject to change. Some combinations may not be viable due to timetabling constraints.

You will be taught in our well-equipped classrooms by our experienced staff. You will have your own specialist tutor who will meet with you individually on a regular basis, and as part of your tutorials. They will help you to set, review and achieve targets – ensuring you are on track to succeed in your studies. We often have guest speakers and local employers in to the College – providing exciting real world projects for our students to get involved in.

There is support available to help you make higher education decisions after successful completion of the programme, including moving on to university. The vast majority of our A Level students progress successfully to higher education after their time with us. There is also an extensive programme of enrichment opportunities on offer for our students, and you will be encouraged to select from a range of activities to supplement your studies including volunteering, work experience and sport.

Formal assessment for A Levels is through examinations.

You will need 5 GCSEs at grade 5 or above including English Language and maths. Some subjects have an additional subject entry requirement. Please see individual courses for details.

You will be invited to a timetabling session to discuss your individual subject choice.
