This qualification will develop the knowledge and awareness of the types of provision in the Health, Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s sectors. It includes the roles played by workers, from principles and values to health and safety and working with others. There is the option to take units in more specialised areas such as learning disability, sensory loss or mental health.
What you'll learn

- understand the range of service provision and roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare
- introduction to communication in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare
- awareness of protection and safeguarding in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare
How you'll learn and be assessed
In addition to the Level 1 Certificate in Health and Social Care, you will retake English and maths GCSEs.
The qualification will be assessed by your Tutor or Assessor using a range of methods. This could include tasks such as designing charts or leaflets, coursework or methods such as oral questioning.
Progression
On successful completion of this course, you could progress to Level 2 Health and Social Care.
Entry requirements
You need to have 4 GCSEs at grade 2 or above including English and maths.
