Topics include: cutting women’s hair, cutting men’s hair, colouring and lightening hair, the art of dressing hair and styling men’s hair.
All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
Anyone considering a future career in hairdressing. Due to this, practical salon experience would be an advantage.

Entry requirements
Diploma – At least two GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C) or above, including Maths and English Language. You must demonstrate proven interest in the industry and have good references from your school or equivalent. You should also have a minimum of 80% attendance from your school/college/work.
